A survey by Talentbank has found that the following are the top priorities for female and male undergraduates in Malaysia, in their search for the ideal employer:<\/p>\n

  1. Salary and bonus<\/li>\n
  2. Career development opportunities<\/li>\n
  3. Good bosses and leaders<\/li>\n
  4. Learning and development opportunities<\/li>\n
  5. Good company culture<\/li>\n
  6. Flexible working hours.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Talentbank Founder, Ben Ho, explained the only discrepancy in their preferences: “However, male respondents chose career development as a second priority, while female respondents wanted good bosses and leaders.”<\/p>\n

    He said that most of the respondents expected a starting salary of RM2,500-RM3,500 in their first job and a monthly internship allowance of RM1,000.<\/p>\n

    The survey was a result of responses by over 24,000 Malaysian public and private university undergraduates, where they also voted for the ‘Top 10 Most Attractive Graduate Employers To Work For in 2021’. Maybank, Google, Microsoft Malaysia, Petroliam Nasional Bhd, Shopee Malaysia, Intel Malaysia, CIMB, Shell Malaysia, Celcom Axiata Bhd and PwC Malaysia, were identified as the most attractive employers.<\/p>\n

    As such,\u00a0banking and technology were among the top five preferred industries for the participating undergraduates.<\/p>\n

    Ho added: “The importance of a great employer brand image cannot be underestimated. It helps organisations become a talent magnet and attract the right talent.<\/p>\n
